What happens if an appliance fails the test?
Our primary goal is to keep your workplace safe. If an electrical appliance fails either the visual inspection or the electrical tests, we follow a strict safety protocol:
Immediate Labelling: The item will immediately be fitted with a highly visible, red "FAILED" label.
Quarantine & Report: We will clearly explain the fault to your on-site manager or representative, and advise that the item be removed from service immediately to prevent accidental use.
Minor Repairs On-Site: Where possible, simple faults—such as a damaged plug casing or an incorrectly rated fuse—will be repaired or replaced by our engineer on-site to help the item pass safely.
Detailed Records: The failed item, along with the specific reason for its failure, will be clearly documented in your final digital Asset Register & Safety Report.
Please note: FG PAT Testing Service is not responsible for repairing complex internal machinery faults or broken appliance internals. Failed items must not be reconnected to the mains power supply until they have been formally repaired by a qualified technician.
