Terms & Conditions
1. General Framework
These Terms and Conditions apply to all portable appliance testing (PAT) services provided by Florin GRIGORE, trading as FG PAT Testing Service (hereafter referred to as "the Company"), to any commercial client, landlord, or individual (hereafter referred to as "the Client"). By booking our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Service Standards & Competence
All testing is carried out in accordance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and the IET Code of Practice. Testing will be conducted by a fully insured, competent engineer qualified to City & Guilds 2377 standards.
3. Bookings, Fees, and Taxes
Pricing and VAT: All standard prices quoted on our calculator are subject to UK VAT at the current rate of 20%.
Minimum Charge: We operate a strict minimum invoice charge of £65.00 net (£78.00 gross), which covers the testing of up to your first 30 electrical appliances.
Add-on Services: Optional specialized checks, such as Microwave Leakage Testing, are charged as an additional service at a rate of £10.00 net per appliance.
Cancellations: We require at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellations. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or instances where our engineer is turned away on arrival, will be invoiced at the full minimum charge rate.
4. IT Systems & Server Disclaimer (Choose Option A or B from our earlier chat)
Client Responsibility: The Company will not unplug or power down critical IT hardware, servers, network switches, or telecom systems without express permission or supervision. It is the Client’s sole responsibility to ensure all such equipment is safely shut down and backed up prior to testing.
Limitation of Liability: The Company accepts absolutely no liability for data loss, system downtime, business interruption, or hardware/software corruption resulting from the routine power-cycling required to conduct safe electrical testing.
5. Nature of a PAT Test
A PAT test is a statement of an appliance's electrical safety at the exact time and date of the test. It is not a warranty or guarantee of the appliance's future reliability, performance, or life expectancy.
6. Payment Terms
Invoices are issued upon completion of the on-site testing. Payment is strictly due within [e.g., 7 or 14] days of the invoice date. Digital safety certificates and asset registers will only be released to the Client once full payment has cleared.
